Welcome to the Bucks County Covered Bridge Society

This year we take a major step toward fulfilling our organization's purpose. With the help of a grant from The Neusch Fund of the Lehigh Valley Commissioners Foundation, private donations and fundraisers, we hope to begin security work on the Knechtís Covered Bridge in scenic Springfield Twp. The security measures we hope to complete this spring are the installation of lighting and security cameras on the bridge. In the future we hope to have a dry sprinkler system put in place. These improvements should have minimal impact on the overall ambiance of the bridges and have the benefit of paying for themselves over time by reducing insurance premiums. However, this is the first of twelve bridges and we still need money to complete all these refinements.

You can help by joining our organization or making a Tax deductable gift in the form of cash, used car, RV, motorcycle or boat. Thatís right, donate your car to a bridge! Watch our website for details. You can also help preserve Bucks County's Covered Bridges by donating part of your estate, or making a gift in memory of a loved one. As little as one half of one percent of your estate could go a long way in bridge preservation. You can leave a lasting legacy by helping to protect Bucks Countyís link to the past.
